VECC Golf Day Needs Players.

The Valentine Eleebana Cricket Club Golf Day

We need players. The final day for registration is Friday 5th September call 49462033 to register.

This great day has been organised by founding member Carl Morris and our great sponsor ESP promotions.

The club now needs you to participate.

14th September at Waratah Golf Club 12.30 start

A great fathers day present why not play gold with dad or as a family? this game is on the weekend after fathers day. Forget winter sports its almost time for summer & summer means cricket. Have a look at the state of the pitch on the soccer oval and you will see it needs some help, money raised from this great day will do that for our players.

Have a look on the website and support this great day. You do not need to be a Tiger Woods to play in fact many (like myself) are leading teams who have never played before, watch out for the photographs I hope to see all of you there.

Valentine Eleebana Soccer Oval Pitch In Very Poor Condition

Has anyone noticed over the past 2 seasons the deterioration in the cricket pitch on the Valentine Eleebana Soccer Oval?
The pitch now sits about 25mm below the ground surface subjecting it to constant moisture & above normal wear and tear.
The solution
The VECC Committee commenced discussions with LMC in April this year (after preliminary discussions as early as last season) about rebuilding or renovating the pitch. After a number of discussions with various members of the LMC it was decided to renovate the pitch in the off season. As of August 2008 the VECC is ready to build the pitch to be ready for the 2008/09 season.
Funds raised on the VECC Golf day will go directly into the re-building or renovation of this pitch. The estimated cost for this venture is $5000.00 which the LMC has committee $1500.00 to the project.
How can you help?
Support the golf day, a successful attendance at this event will ensure the funds are there if/when the LMC is ready to go ahead with this project.

VECC Summer Challenge for Tanya

Tanya Wilks host of KOFM's Breakfast program is faced with a difficult challenge. Tanya lives in a house with 2 men one of them likes cricket. At the Valentine Eleebana Cricket Club we feel we have the friendliest club in Newcastle so we would like to throw this challenge down to Tanya and offer her the following.
A position for her son in our club for the season 2008/09.
A guarantee she will not have to spend any more than 2 hours on a Saturday morning out in the sun.
A fast paced game for her son supported by a qualified coach in a fun family environment.
For Tanya personally we will offer
Her own personal shaded tent area to protect her from the sun
A cool drink in case she gets thirsty
An endless supply of sunscreen
A fresh newspaper & trashy magazines just in case she gets restless.
All home games are played in the leafy grounds of the Croudace Bay Sporting Complex or in 2008/09 at the Valentine Public School.
As any regular listener to the morning program would agree Tanya has never been short of throwing challenges David's way, all of which he has accepted. The VECC committee feel it's time Tanya had a challenge thrown at her whilst at the same time providing her son with a fantastic opportunity to play Australia's number one sport at Newcastle's number one club.
The challenge is out to you Tanya are you up to it?
